Southwest Private Adventure - TravelChic Virtual Style
This is the fourth trip I’ve planned for my clients Tiffany, Chad, Jessica and Alanna. They were my first clients to book a trip with me when I started my travel business, so planning trips for them is particularly special for me. All of them being nurses, they were anxious to travel and get out in the open air for an adventure. Considering the past year, to say they deserved this trip was an understatement. Let’s thank all the hospital workers for their service!
Overview
Let’s take a look at their itinerary from their POV (point-of-view).
On this ultimate Southwest private national park adventure for 7-days, experience the majesty of the Grand Canyon, with its awesome walls of red rock, narrow slot canyons and epic sunsets. Marvel at Bryce Canyon, a fairytale amphitheater of spires, columns, and pink pinnacles. See the beautiful, rugged terrain of Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument. Immerse in Zion National Park, exploring its massive red walls, enormous sandstone monoliths soaring into brilliant blue skies, and serene riverbanks. Along the way, learn how the region's incredible rock formations appeared, and about its diverse flora and fauna. To top it off, pamper yourself in comfortable lodges in stunning locations.
Luckily for me and you, the reader, Chad is a photographer and videographer! So we literally get to experience their adventure through their eyes!

Day 2 - Guided Hike - Zion National Park
After resting in Las Vegas for their first day, on day 2, they met their private guide this morning for a full day bottom-up hike in the Narrows of Zion National Park.
On this spectacular slot canyon hike, you will walk along the banks and in the Virgin River to the narrowest section of Zion Canyon. You will be outfitted with special footwear, neoprene socks, a hiking pole and a dry day pack. Your hike is customized to fit current conditions, ability level and your goals. A trailside picnic lunch is included today.
This afternoon, you will have a one and a half hour scenic drive to your overnight accommodations near Bryce Canyon National Park. If time permits today, you may consider taking a late afternoon walk on the Angel's Palace Trail in nearby Kodachrome State Park. This lesser known area offers fantastic views of the colorful cliffs, spires, unique pinnacles and red sandstone outcroppings.
This evening meet an astronomer for a fantastic and educational shared stargazing experience. The Utah desert's predictable weather, low humidity and dark night skies make it the perfect location for viewing the Milky Way Galaxy, millions of stars, recognizable constellations and even some far off galaxies millions of light years away. Your astronomer will also provide an introductory lesson in astrophotography this evening.
Day 3 - Hiking in Bryce Canyon National Park - Drive to Page, AZ
Drive the short distance to explore Bryce Canyon National Park on your own. Famous for the largest concentration of hoodoos anywhere on the planet, Bryce Canyon is simply magical. The National Park is made up of several natural amphitheaters carved into the high plateau. Walk among the hoodoos and spires, linger at the spectacular viewpoints throughout the park and keep an eye out for the Bristlecone Pine trees, which are among the oldest living organisms on earth.
After concluding your hike, you will drive to Page. If time permits we recommend a short hike and photo stop at the specular Horseshoe Bend Overlook just outside Page on Highway 89.
Day 4 - Antelope Canyon
Meet your guide this morning for a private tour of Antelope Canyon. Few geological formations are as picturesque and awe-inspiring as Antelope Canyon. A photographer's dream, the canyon is known for its wave-like structure and the light beams that shine directly down into the openings of the canyon, creating a supernatural appearance. On this one and a half hour walking tour hear the local history from your guide, take photos and enjoy the beauty of the 100ft sandstone walls around you.
Day 5 - Hike Grand Canyon National Park-Drive to Sedona, AZ
The morning is free for you to hike the Grand Canyon on your own. Explore some of the most iconic trails and scenic vistas the South Rim has to offer. Along the way, learn about the unique ecosystem, the deep Native American connection to the Canyon and the wonders of this special place. Expect to see sweeping views, ancient rocks, curious critters, and diverse plants.
At the completion of your explorations, drive to your accommodations in Sedona.
Day 6 - Sedona
Today, head to a nearby ranch for a private horseback ride. Sedona offers breathtaking beauty filled with spectacular red rock formations and soaring sandstone cliffs which will be the backdrop for todays ride. Your private trail ride will be customized based on your personal experience and goals and no previous experience is necessary.
The rest of the day is at leisure for you enjoy the beautiful red rock landscape as you wish. Sedona is home to some excellent tasting rooms that provide an insightful and thoughtful array of locally produced wines.
